In this article we’ll show you how to generate PrestaShop meta descriptions with ChatGPT and Store Manager.
Before we proceed with the task, let’s check the data we have now. Below you can see PrestaShop products along with current metadata. As you can see, the meta description is missing.
Let’s check this product in the PrestaShop admin. Same is true, no meta description here as well.
Step 1: Create Your Own Prompt
To generate meta description in bulk, let’s start with Prompt editing. For that, go to ChatGPT menu and open PromptBook.
Here you will see a list of prompts available at the moment that can be applied massively. Also, here you can create your own prompt per your needs. We’ll use the prompt that allows us to generate PrestaShop meta description based on product name and brand.
Step 2: Insert the Desired Macros at the Prompt
Here you can see that our target field is Product Meta Description. That is the field that the result will be saved into. Also, you can find a macros list with product fields that can be used for data generation. We’ll add a product name and product brand to our prompt.
Play around with your prompt to make sure it allows you to generate the perfect meta data. Also, pay attention to the length that’s limited to 160 characters. If you have any other specific requirements, make sure to include them in the prompt as well. Do not forget to hit apply to save changes before you proceed.
Step 3: Go to the ChatGPT Mass Changer
Once you are done with your prompt, go back to the products list, and select all products that you would like to apply this prompt to. We recommend selecting a few products to check the result, before applying this prompt to all products. To run the process, use the ChatGPT button.
Step 4: Choose a Prompt and an Action
Here you can see the list of products that we have just selected. You can select the prompt that you would like to apply. Also, you can select the action to be performed.
Step 5: Go to ChatGPT Tasks Queue
Let’s run the process and go to the Tasks queue to see the ChatGPT in action.
Here you can see the list of products and tasks that are executed. Also, you can check the Response from ChatGPT before applying it to your products. The status is changed from Pending to Generated once the process is complete.
Step 6: Apply the Result
If you’re satisfied with the result, hit “Apply” or each product one-by-one or in bulk.
Step 7: Check the Store for Changes
Let’s check the result now.
On the screenshot below you can see the generated meta description.
It can contain a call to action or be more specific and contain features or any other PrestaShop data. You can adjust what data should be included in your prompt.
Let’s check one product in PrestaShop admin. Do not forget to refresh the page to see the result.
